RUXANDRA ZENIDE

Half Swiss and half Romanian, Ruxandra Zenide was born in Bucharest. After obtaining her Master’s Degree in International Affairs at the Institut Universitaire des Hautes Etudes Internationales (IUHEI) from Geneva, she continued studying film directing at the New York University (U.S.A.) and at FAMU Prague (Czech Republic).

While studying at FAMU, she produced DUST, a short film that was included in the official selections of several famous festivals, such as the ones in Clermont-Ferrand, Bruxelles and Locarno, where the film was awarded the «Prize for Promising Talent». GREEN OAKS is her second short film that wins different prizes in competitions such as the film festivals from Brest, Drame, Olympia, Famu Fest.

Her first feature film, RYNA, has also received multiple awards in festivals all around the world.

THE MIRACLE OF TEKIR is her second feature film and it has just been awarded the «Swiss Talent Award» at the most recent film festival in Zürich.

In 2004, she was one of the founders of the film production company Elefant Films, where she produced several films, as well.
